John also said that when daily meditation/visualization is combined with; daily affirmations, journaling, learning new information aka, personal development, masterminding with mentors, income producing activity and getting crystal clear on your purpose; no other DMO (Daily Method of Operation) is more powerful.
When I started this blog I promised to reveal the secrets I've discovered about creating true wealth and if any of what I write can be considered a secret this one would have to be at the top of the list of daily principled actions.
Methodology for meditation changes from Guru to Guru and frequently these Guru's insist you come to a retreat or join a class costing thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours of time to learn from them. The power of meditation and visualization truly are ancient principles and have been passed on from one generation to the next for thousands of years.
This was one of the first truths about meditation I discovered. In fact right after John told me about this secret to his success I became pretty discouraged because he didn't tell me how to meditate nor did he attempt to point me in the direction of a source that would teach me.
John's behavior had me stumped back then because I was really seeking answers and his only created more questions at the time. Since then I've discovered a very real principle of the universe called desire. Basically this principle says that when a person desires or has a big enough reason (purpose) they will figure out how to do it and become their own Guru. Looking back I'm grateful John didn't try taking me by the hand and lead me to some one size fits all solution to my questions about meditation and visualization.
Now you're probably thinking great why should I read the rest of this if the "how to" isn't going to be discussed? So...hold on just a minute and consider that I'm going to share information with you that will lead you to seek your own "how to" by giving you the basics.
My disclaimer for this post, actually for the entire blog is that in no way shape or form am I attempting to be a meditation/visualization Guru and pretend to have all the answers to your questions. But I do know something about the subject (personal development- You thought I was going to say meditation/visualization didn't you?) and it starts with knowing that people who diligently seek answers find what they are looking for. The rest of the people can be given "ALL" the answers and still won't do a damn thing with them. So where do you fit in? Are you a cow or a rhino?
Are you willing to seek what you desire and become your own guru? If the answer is yes then read on. If your answer is no then have fun with your J.O.B. you're gonna need it. At least at work you'll have people to tell you what to do, how to do it and when.
So where is all this headed? Great question and I'm glad you asked that because that' what I was going to tell you...buy a book!
Yup...I'm going to share the basics and I'm going to take it one step further than John did with me, I'm going to tell you the books I read to discover how to meditate and visualize effectively.
The rest is up to you.
You can use what I'll share with you and get started, in fact it may be all you need but if it isn't and you feel you're not getting anywhere then don't struggle with it for a month or until you quit, go buy these books or some other books and keep seeking the answers until you've found success. Take full responsibility for your own success.
These principles are literally that important...remember John my friend and mentor? He is also a self made millionaire, he uses these principles every day and he walks the talk so when he says here is the one thing I've done that has made me more money than ALL the other things...I paid attention.
HOW TO BEGIN MEDITATION
The following was taken from a book called "A Path With Heart" by Jack Kornfield "Establishing a Daily Meditation"
"After a few breaths your mind will probably wander. When you notice this, no matter how long or short a time you have been away, simply come back to the next breath. Before you return, you can mindfully acknowledge where you have gone with a soft word in the back of your mind, such as 'thinking,' 'wandering,' hearing,' 'itching.' After softly and silently naming to yourself where your attention has been, gently and directly return to feel the next breath. Later on in your meditation you will be able to work with the places your mind wanders to, but for initial training, one word of acknowledgement and a simple return to the breath is best."
"As you sit, let the breath change by rhythms naturally, allowing it to be short, long, fast, slow, rough, or easy. Calm yourself by relaxing into the breath. When your breath becomes soft, let your attention become gentle and careful, as soft as the breath itself..." pp. 65-66
Once you have become more skilled in this daily practice you'll probably want to take it to the next level and for this you'll really have to go buy the book because I can't possibly re-print all the instructions.
Another book that greatly assisted me in learning the skill of meditation was written by Deepak Chopra and it's called "The Spontaneous Fulfillment of Desire"
Deepak goes into using mantras and other aspects of meditation and visualization which is a great segway into the next part:
VISUALIZATION
This excerpt comes from the book "Unveiled Mysteries" by Godfre Ray King taken from chapter 3 "The Royal Teton" pp. 101-108
This is a rather long excerpt but making it shorter for convenience would not serve the reader who is truly seeking to know 'How' this works.
In the book Godfre is talking with Saint Germain who is known as the master alchemist. Whether you believe in alchemy or not, this is true alchemy and deserves your attention:
Godfre says to St. Germain "I have a question that has been holding my attention for some time, and it is concerning visualization. What is true visualization and what happens when one does visualize?"
"True visualization, he answered, is God's attribute and Power of Sight-acting in the mind of man. When one consciously pictures in his mind a desire he wishes fulfilled-he is using one of the most powerful means of bringing it into his visible, tangible experience. There is much confusion and uncertainty in the minds of many, concerning what actually happens-when one visualizes or makes a mental picture-of something he desires. No form ever came into existance-anywhere in the universe-unless someone had consciously held a picture of that form in his thought-for every thought contains a picture of the idea within it. Even an abstract thought has a piture of some kid-or at least a picture-that is one's mental concept of it."
"I will give you an exercise by which one may develop, consciously control, and direct his visualizing activities for definite accomplishment. There are several steps to the process-which every student can use at any and all times. The practice does bring visible, tangible results-when really applied. The first step-is to determine upon a definite plan or desire to be fulfilled. In this, see that it is constructive, honorable and worthy of your time and effort. be sure to examine your motive for bringing such a creation into expression...there is a vast difference between use, desire and appetite. Use-is the fulfilling of the Great Universal Law of Service. Desire-is the expading activity of God-through which manifestation is constantly sutained and is Perfection-enlarging itself. Appetite-is but a habit-established by the continued gratification of the feeling nature and is but energy focus and qualified by suggestions from the outer activity of life."
"Be very sure that there is no lurking feeling within that you would be glad to benefit at the expense of another. A real student and only such a one will get the benefit out of this kind of training-takes the reins into his own hands and-determins-to discipline and consciously control-the human self. He chooses what shall or shall not be in is world and-through the rocess of picturing wihin his mind-designs and brings into maifestation-a definitely determined plan of Life."

If the human side of us really agrees to the Divine Plan and accepts it there can be no such thing as delay or failure for all energy has the inherent quality of Perfection within it and rushes to serves its Creator."
